How many keywords can you rank for on a single page?

The short answer is hundreds. So let me explain. First, when creating a page you’ll want to come up with 3 or 4 words your want to rank for. For example, for us, our 2 main keywords on the home page would be web design and SEO Services. Now that we have determined the main keywords, you’ll want write content around these keywords to include more detailed descriptive keywords naturally.

I thought you said I can rank for hundreds of keywords? This naturally happens when you write content, because you’ll naturally rank for the long-tail keyword phrases in the text you write. So write content with this in mid so you’ll mention words such as mobile friendly, responsive, SEO friendly and so on.

Now, having a website designed with SEO in mind to maximize your visibility in Google is the key to your success, So what does that entail? Simple, tagging images, writing titles and descriptions including your main keyword phrases, optimizing your site for speed and linking products and services from the TLD to ensure Google follows all your services or products to the correct page. Next thing I notice is a lot of website owners don’t do is interlinking. Interlinking blog posts to other blog posts and pages will create a natural progression that allows search engines to optimally crawl your pages of your site. You see, internal linking is just as important as external linking.

Keep in mind, there are no shortcuts to the ranking success of your website, so really take the time to do it right the first time. It will save you hours in the long run and help your users better find what they are looking for.
